Take Your Dog to Dinner

CANINE THERAPY CORPS hosted their first ever Take Your Dog to Dinner at restaurants throughout the Chicagoland area. Canine diners received treats and special entrees. Participating restaurants donated a portion of the bill from each table to the CANINE THERAPY CORPS. Thanks to all who participated.
Tails of the City Annual Benefit

CANINE THERAPY CORPS' Annual Benefit, Tails of the City, was held on May
15, 2003 this year at the Chicago Cultural Center. There was a fantastic canine
runway show featuring our very own therapy dogs, along with a video documentary
of the extraordinary work that Canine Therapy Corps has been able to do with patients
working along side therapists. We were privileged to have Don Agnew, a former
CTC client who worked with Mary Ann Alexander and her dog Tag, share with us
his story of recovery. Guests also enjoyed a silent auction, a LIVE auction,
raffle prizes, wine and a light supper. View event photo album.

Joint Conference on Aging

Judy Keitz, Janet Rosen Eaton, Katsuyo Thornton and John Vranicar, along with canines Derby, Foxy and Kate, led a round-table discussion about Animal-assisted therapy at the Joint Conference on Aging in Chicago. Participants in the healthcare industry from all across the country, from New York to LA, attended the session to learn more about how they could bring animal-assisted therapy into their personal lives and professional careers.
From an organizational standpoint, Judy and Janet talked about what it takes to run a professional group like CANINE THERAPY CORPS. Volunteers shared their personal experiences and victories with patients. Participants also had the opportunity to view the CANINE THERAPY CORPS case study videos ask questions, as well as spend some quality time with the dogs.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

The CANINE THERAPY CORPS' and the rest of Chicago had a rare and gorgeous March day for the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade. Many of our volunteers, both human and canine participated.
